RESEARCH ON THE VALUE OF FINANCIAL ADVICE
My doctoral thesis sheds light on the value of financial advice by abandoning the simplistic dichotomy of 'advised vs unadvised' households, controlling for inter- and intra-channel differences in advice available while also accounting for endogenous factors of individuals. In other words: I take the approach that there is a wide variance in both the type and quality of advice available to households and that households themselves are also different from one another and that this is an important factor when determining household wealth management efficacy.
